Making homemade treats for your furry friend is a fun and rewarding way to show them love. This simple peanut butter dog treats recipe uses only four wholesome ingredients that are safe and delicious for dogs. These treats are easy to make and perfect for rewarding your pup with something special.

Ingredients

To make these peanut butter dog treats, you’ll need:

  • 1 cup of creamy peanut butter (make sure it’s free from xylitol, which is toxic to dogs)

  • 1 large egg

  • 2 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour

  • 1 cup of water

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, eggs, and flour. Slowly add water until the dough is firm but pliable.

  3. Roll and Cut: Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to about 1/2-inch thickness. Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes, or simply cut the dough into squares.

  4. Bake: Place the treats on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown.

  5. Cool and Serve: Let the treats cool completely before serving them to your dog. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week.

  6. Storage: These store well in the refrigerator for up to 2 months and the freezer for up to 8 months.
