Drop-Ins

Drop-ins are available from 7:30 AM – 9:30 PM and last 45 minutes, except as noted in the Holiday section. Within that time, your pet can receive fresh water, food, litter scooping, a walk, backyard playtime, treats, cuddles, and/or human presence.

I will try my best to accommodate specific times; however, booking times are first come, first served. Pets with medical needs have first priority, and schedules may shift to accommodate those pets. I will communicate any time shifts as needed.

Please note that times are a suggestion, not a guarantee. Occurrences including but not limited to traffic, illness, inclement weather, and prior drop-in related issues may cause delays.  I work on a three hour window meaning if I book your pet for a noon drop in, I may show up an hour early at 11am or I may show up an hour late at 1pm.  Rarely do I ever encounter fluctuations more than this however it has happened.

Overnights

Overnights take place in the comfort of your own home. I reserve the right to leave your home and your pet for up to 5 hours at a time. It is not necessarily certain that I will need to leave and I may stay at your property for extended periods as well.

Overnights are priced per day, not per night.

Overnights – Dinner to Breakfast Only

These are conducted in the comfort of your own home and are reserved for cats or dogs that have access to the outside or are litter trained.

I will arrive for dinner time feeding and depart after the breakfast feeding. I reserve the right to leave after supplying dinner and return later if needed, although it is not necessarily certain I will need to.  I may also stay after breakfast to engage with your pet longer.  The difference between Dinner to Breakfast overnights and regular overnights is that there is no guaranteed midday drop in with Dinner to Breakfast overnights.

Dinner to Breakfast overnights are priced per day, not per night.

Meet & Greets

Meet & greets are required so I can get to know you and your pet, review routines, and obtain access — and so you can get to know me and ensure we’re a good fit for each other.

The first meet & greet is free. Additional meet & greets are $30 and follow the same rate increases as drop-in visits.

Key exchanges due to relocation are not charged.

Current Rates

Rates effective since October 1st, 2026:

  • $30 – Drop-ins

  • $85 – Overnights

  • $60 – Overnights (Dinner to Breakfast)

Additional pets:

  • Overnights: $25 per pet over 3 pets

  • Drop-ins: $5 per pet over 3 pets

Local Transport (Within 20 miles):

  • One Way: $30

  • Round Trip: $50

Rate Increases

Beginning in 2026, rate increases may take place yearly on October 1st. It is not guaranteed that rates will increase every year; however, if they do, it will occur on October 1st and clients will be notified in advance through the summer newsletter.

Previously, rate increases were done several years apart and resulted in larger jumps. I prefer to avoid that and instead provide smaller, more predictable adjustments.

Holidays

Holidays are generally busier times. In order to accommodate as many pet parents as possible, I will reduce drop-ins to 30 minutes on the following holidays:

  • 4th of July Weekend (3rd, 4th & 5th)

  • Thanksgiving Eve

  • Thanksgiving Day

  • Christmas Eve

  • Christmas Day

I reserve the right to add holidays in the future should the need arise.

Inclement Weather

I reserve the right to protect both the pets in my care and myself during inclement weather. For dogs that require walks, I will make an executive decision based on conditions:

  • Above 80°F or below 32°F: Shortened walk; yard playtime, indoor playtime, and/or cuddles

  • Light drizzle/mist: Walk as usual

  • Medium to heavy rain, thunderstorm, heavy wind, snow, sleet, or freezing rain: Potty break with indoor care

If weather affects my ability to safely travel, I will communicate with you to discuss alternative care options (e.g., a neighbor, emergency contact, or impromptu switch to overnight care).

Emergency Contact

It is important that you designate an emergency contact as a backup should anything happen to me or my ability to reach your pet (accident, illness, weather, or other unforeseen circumstances). A neighbor or nearby family member is strongly recommended.

Your emergency contact should be a non-traveling individual with access to your home in case of emergency. Not having this set up can cause delays in the care of your pets should I encounter an emergent situation.

Care of Pets

I will provide feeding, fresh water, walking, potty breaks, litter care, medication administration, and companionship. All necessary instructions and supplies are to be provided by the client.

I may bring treats or toys. If your pet has allergies or restrictions, please notify me in advance.

Please confirm that your pet is up to date on care and that you have provided veterinary information and medical details.

Care of Home

I will maintain your home to the same standard I maintain my own, including mail and package retrieval, plant care, security checks, emptying pool filters, reporting issues, rotating lights, and safe and sanitary upkeep.

Visitors & Other Persons

Other Persons in the Residence

For privacy and insurance purposes, no other persons may stay in the home during overnight visits. I will never bring other people into your home.

Visitors & Hired Help

Any person entering your home while you are away — including but not limited to housekeepers, family members, and repairmen — is at your own liability. I must be notified in advance if anyone will be entering the home.

No Employees or Independent Contractors

I will never outsource your booking. You will always work directly with me.

Cameras & Audio Equipment

Cameras may be present both inside and outside of the home, except in areas where there is an expectation of privacy. Cameras must not be placed in bathrooms, changing areas, or sleeping areas used by me, and all camera locations must be disclosed prior to the start of services.

Photos, Videos & Social Media

I may use footage I take with my own equipment on my social media pages, website, print media, or for other business purposes. I will take care to maintain the privacy of your personal information and home location within any such content.

Privacy

I collect personal information solely to provide services to you and your pets. This includes but is not limited to names, phone numbers, addresses, and email addresses. I will never sell, lease, or distribute your personal information to companies, organizations, or individuals except when required by law.

Payment

I accept Venmo, Zelle, Cash, or Check for services rendered.  Kindly pay within 24 hours of last visit or the agreed upon date. Payment of all services, including any applicable cancellation fees, is agreed upon at the time of booking.

Cancellations

I understand that cancellations happen and I am happy to reschedule when possible. However, if a booking is cancelled too close to the start date, a 50% charge of the total booking will apply based on the following notice requirements:

  • 72 hours notice required: overnights, dinner-to-breakfast overnights, or drop-ins with 5 or more scheduled visits

  • 24 hours notice required: 4 or fewer drop-in visits

Once a booking is confirmed, that time is reserved exclusively for your pet(s) and is no longer available to other clients.

If a key pickup has already occurred and no payment has been made, a $20 fee will be charged at key drop-off.

Early Return

If you return home earlier than scheduled, the full amount of the original booking will still be due. I do not provide refunds, credits, or adjustments for early returns.  Clients are required to notify me as soon as possible if plans change.

Non-Medical Emergencies

In the event of a non-medical emergency (such as a fire, burglary, loss of heat or power, or severe weather such as hurricane, tornado or blizzard) and I am unable to reach you or your emergency contact, I will make decisions to the best of my judgment, and you agree to all subsequent charges.  If you would prefer that I not make decisions without you or your emergency contact's consent, please let me know and we will discuss alternative plans.

Veterinary Care Authorization

In the event of a medical emergency, I will make every reasonable attempt to contact you and/or your emergency contact. An emergency is defined as any situation where a delay in treatment could result in a worsening condition, pain, suffering, or risk to the pet’s life.

All veterinary costs, including but not limited to exams, treatment, medications, and transportation, are the sole responsibility of the client. I am not responsible for the outcome of any medical care provided.

I can supply a Veterinary Release form to be signed and returned at any time. Please let me know if you would like me to keep one on file.  It would help in an emergency situation especially with senior and medically challenged pets.

Sickness & Emergencies

I am a sole proprietor with no employees and unexpected situations may occur. I am not liable for delays or failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond my control, including but not limited to severe weather, illness, emergencies, or vehicle issues.

A backup sitter is recommended as hiring an independent pet sitter carries inherent risk.

Force Majeure / Uncontrollable Events

I am not liable for failure to perform services due to circumstances beyond my control, including but not limited to severe weather, natural disasters, road closures, illness, injury, vehicle issues, or other emergencies. In such cases, I will make every reasonable effort to communicate with you and assist in arranging alternative care.

Limitation of Liability

Pets

While I will always provide the highest level of care, pets are unpredictable and unforeseen situations can occur. I will not be held liable for illness, injury, loss, or death of any pet unless it is proven to be a direct result of gross negligence.

Damages to Home or Yard by Pet

You agree not to hold me accountable for damage caused by my pet. I will attempt to prevent damage and report any issues as they arise.

Access to Your Home

You will provide me with access, keys/codes, and alarm information and I agree to keep this information secure and confidential.

Jurisdiction

These policies and procedures shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the State of Connecticut. Any disputes arising under these policies and procedures shall be handled within the appropriate courts located in Connecticut.

Agreement

By booking me for pet sitting services, you are agreeing to these polices and procedures.
